Designing signs
You can design signs without an account. The signs in your cart, and the text you type on them, are stored only in your own browser (local storage) until you order, remove them or clear your browser data. Your browser also keeps a note of how you first found our site (for example a search engine or a link), which is sent to us only if you place an order, so we know which pages and listings bring customers.
When you order
We collect what we need to make and ship your order: your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, the signs you ordered and the text on them. We use it to make and ship your signs, to email you about your order (receipt, shipping and tracking), and to answer your questions. We do not sell your information or send you marketing email.
Who helps us
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.
- Printing and shipping: our print partner receives the sign artwork and your name and shipping address so it can print your signs and ship them to you, and the carrier receives your address to deliver them.
- Hosting and email: the site, our order records and our email run on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for our accounts, taxes, and to help with any problem with your order.
If you email us at hello@captainsigns.com, we use your message and address only to answer you.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it (except what we must keep for our records), by emailing hello@captainsigns.com.
