Where hunting lease signs are used

A lease holder who runs a camp on a river tract, a family hunting group that rents timber from a landowner, a sporting group with several blinds on rented ground, or a farm lease covering two creek bottoms all need the boundary marked for members. A club secretary may post one on each corner post along the road frontage, and a lease holder might tack one to a tree at a shared corner. It tells the next person which ground is taken.

Choosing the size and where to hang it

Put one on every road corner and each entry the lease covers, at eye level, so a visitor sees it before crossing. The 12 by 18 in size reads from a truck window, and 12 by 12 in fits a tree or a corner post. Aluminum is the choice for woods and open fields because it is rust-free and gloss printed. Plastic is light and useful for a short lease on a shed wall. Use holes or zip ties, and check your state and local rules for leased land.

    Questions about hunting lease signs

Can I order signs for several tracts?

Yes. Add each tract as its own sign with its lease number, or leave the number off and order one design for all of them.

How many signs does a lease need?

There is no set number. Many leases post at each road corner and at the main entry, so a visitor never walks far without a sign in view. A long boundary may need more. Walk the line once from the road and count the spots where a person could cross unseen.

Can the sign show a lease number and tract?

Yes. Type the lease number or tract name on the second line, such as Tract 4 or Lease 18-B. The club or lease holder name goes on the required line. The preview shows how the lines fit under the printed words, so check the numbers before you order.
