Where do emergency exit only signs go?
Mount them on the outside face of each emergency-only door, at eye level. If the door can be seen from inside too, add a sign there. Ask your fire marshal or building inspector which doors they want marked and what wording they expect.
Notice or Danger: which one?
Choose the header your fire marshal or safety officer wants on exit doors. Notice (blue) is for information not related to a hazard, and Danger (red) is for a hazard that will cause death or serious injury.
Does this sign work for a door without an alarm?
The second line reads ALARM WILL SOUND, so the sign is only accurate on a door that sounds an alarm when opened. For any other door, check with your fire marshal before buying and ask whether a different sign fits better.
