Questions about hot surface signs
Where should a hot surface sign go?
Mount it on a wall or post beside the hot equipment, at the point where a person would reach for it. For a long pipe run, repeat the sign every few feet so no section is unmarked. Check local code or site rules for spacing you must follow.
Caution or warning for a hot surface?
Caution (yellow) fits a surface that could cause minor or moderate injury, such as a warm panel or a vent. Warning (orange) fits a surface that could cause death or serious injury, such as a furnace door or a high-temperature line. Choose by the worst likely result.
Can I add a unit name to a hot surface sign?
You can type a line such as UNIT 2 or BOILER ROOM in the extra line. Use the live preview to check the wording before you order, and keep temperatures off the sign unless your safety officer has set them.
