Where custom no trespassing signs are used

Rural landowners post these at a field gate, at the end of a logging road and along a fence line where hunters or hikers cut corners. Farm families use one on a barn door at the edge of a pasture, and owners of a vacant lot stake one at the road edge. The sign states that the land is closed to entry before a visitor climbs a fence. Adding an owner name or a phone number lets a neighbor call the landowner first.

Choosing the size and where to hang it

Use the 18 by 24 inch size on a gate or a main entrance, so the sign reads from a truck window, and the 12 by 12 inch size on a fence post or a stake along a lot line. Reflective aluminum shows in headlights, which helps on a road where people drive in after dark. Plastic is light, and its brass grommets in the top two corners make it easy to zip tie to a wire fence. Before you pick a spot, check your state and local rules for posting land.

Questions about custom no trespassing signs

Is a no trespassing sign enough to post my land?

In many states signs are one of the ways to give notice, but the rules differ: some set the spacing, the letter size or ask for the owner's name. Check your state's posting guide before you order.

Can I add my phone number instead of an address?

Yes. The second line is free text: an address, a phone number or a short note such as "Call before entering".

Which size should I choose for a gate?

12 x 18 in reads well from a car at the gate. 18 x 24 in is better on a road frontage where people pass at speed.

Can I put a phone number on the sign instead of an address?

Yes. Type the number in the Address or phone box, and it prints in place of an address. Use one contact line rather than two so the text stays large enough to read from a vehicle. The live preview shows the final layout before you order.

How do I attach it to a fence?

Aluminum can be ordered with mounting holes in the corners, the top corners, or the top center and bottom, so you can use bolts, screws or heavy zip ties. Plastic has brass grommets in the corners or the top two, and wire or cord passes through them. Pick the hole layout that matches the posts or wire you are fixing it to.
