Forklift Traffic Signs

Forklift traffic signs go at the ends of busy aisles, beside dock doors and at pedestrian crossings where walkers meet lift trucks. Warehouse managers, distribution centers and lumber yards use them to remind people on foot to look for moving forklifts.

Questions about forklift traffic signs

Where should a forklift traffic sign be placed?

Mount them at each aisle end, beside dock doors and at any spot where walkers and trucks cross. Set them high enough to clear stacked goods, and where pallets staged on the floor will not block them. Your site's traffic plan sets the final spots, and your safety officer should confirm them.

Caution or Warning for forklift traffic?

Forklift strikes can be serious, so ask your safety officer which header matches your aisles before ordering. The builder offers Caution (yellow) and Warning (orange) for this sign, and the preview shows each one.

Plastic or aluminum for a warehouse?

Aluminum is .040 in thick, rust-free and printed on one or two sides, with 1/4 in holes for bolting to a post. Plastic is lighter at .020 in, printed on one side and fitted with brass grommets. Aluminum suits posts and walls, and plastic suits lighter hanging spots.
