Questions about hot water signs
Why is only caution offered?
Hot water signs use CAUTION (yellow) because a scald is usually a minor or moderate injury. If your water runs hot enough to cause serious burns, talk with your plumber or safety officer about the water temperature at that fixture and the sign you need.
Where should it be placed?
Mount it at the sink, shower or tap, at a height someone sees before turning the handle. A second sign on a wall helps when the fixture is recessed or hard to see from the doorway.
Can I add my own line?
Yes. Type a short line such as a room number or Check Water Before Use. Plastic is light, and brass grommets let you zip tie it to a fixture, while aluminum takes screw holes for a wall. The live preview shows the sign as you type.
