Where baby announcement yard signs are used

New parents, grandparents and aunts order these to mark the day a baby comes home. A friend or a neighbor can have one waiting on the lawn as a quiet surprise, so the family arrives to a warm welcome without having to host anyone. They suit adoptions and foster homecomings just as well, with the top line changed to Welcome Home. Some families keep the sign afterward and bring it out again for the baby's first birthday photos.

Where to put it

Face it toward the driveway so the parents see it as they pull in, or put it by the front door if the yard is small. In an apartment or a townhome, ask first and use a patch of grass by the entrance. The stake needs soft ground, so a flower bed works well when the lawn is hard or frozen.

Questions about baby announcement yard signs

What do people usually write on a baby yard sign?

The name goes on the big line, Welcome Home or It's a Girl on the top line, and the birth date, weight or both on the bottom line. Switch off any line you do not need.

Can I order before the baby has a name?

Yes. Type Baby and the family name, such as Baby Miller, or use the big line for It's a Boy. You can also wait and order after the birth, because each sign is made to order.

Is the sign safe to leave out for a few weeks?

It is made for outdoor use: the plastic and the print handle rain, and the steel stake holds it in soft ground. Bring it in before a storm with strong wind.

Can I match the sign to the nursery colors?

Yes. The Lettering colors list has soft pairs such as baby blue, blush and sage, and the flower and balloon designs have a Decoration list. Try a few in the preview to find the closest match.

Is this sign the same as the baby shower banner?

The artwork comes from the same family, but this is a rigid plastic sign on a stake for the lawn. For a wall or a table at a shower, our Baby Shower Banners are printed on vinyl.
