Where birthday yard signs are used
Parents put these out for a first birthday, a sweet sixteen or a child who wants the whole street to know. Adult children order one for a parent turning 50, 70 or 90, and friends plant one overnight as a surprise. A drive-by party uses the sign to mark the right house, and a sign at the end of a long driveway shows guests where to turn in. After the party it can go in the garage and come out again next year with a sticker over the age.
Where to put it
Put it where the guest of honor will see it first: facing the front window, or by the driveway where the car pulls in. For a surprise, set it up the night before or while they are out, since the stake goes in within a minute. On a party day, a second sign at the nearest corner helps guests who are new to the street.
Questions about birthday yard signs
Can I change the colors on a birthday yard sign?
Yes. Each design opens on its own colors, and the Lettering colors list changes the words to any other pair. The flower and balloon designs also have a Decoration list that swaps the artwork.
How far ahead should I order for a birthday?
Each sign ships in 1 to 2 business days, then ground shipping takes 2 to 5 business days, so plan on 3 to 7 business days in all. We cannot promise a delivery date, so order early.
What should I put on the small lines?
The top line usually says Happy Birthday. The bottom line can carry the age, the date or something fun, such as Honk for the birthday girl. Switch either line off and the name stands alone.
Can I put a photo on a birthday yard sign?
Not on these designs, which use illustrated artwork. Choose Design it for me, send the photo with your notes and we will email a mockup to look over. Our Birthday Photo Banners also put your own photo on vinyl.
Will a long name fit?
The big line takes up to 22 letters and the letters shrink to fit the sign. The preview shows the result as you type, so try a first name alone if a full name looks small.
