Welcome Home Banners

Families order a welcome home banner after a deployment, a long trip, college, a hospital stay, a new baby coming home or an adoption. Upload one photo of the person, and the page frames the face right in your browser. Pick a layout, type the words and choose from 20 color pairs. Hang it on a garage door, yard fence or porch railing, or hold it up at the airport.

Helpful guides

Where welcome home banners are used

A garage door is a natural spot for a welcome home banner. A family hangs it there for the moment a student, a parent or a sibling pulls into the driveway. A new baby coming home can get a banner on the front porch, where neighbors walking by can see the photo. At the airport pickup, the banner is held up where the arriving person can see it, and a homecoming party can use the yard fence.

Choosing the size and where to hang it

A 4 by 2 ft or 6 by 2 ft fits a porch railing or a short stretch of yard fence. The 6 by 3 ft and 8 by 3 ft suit a garage door or a long fence that faces the street. On a chain link or other open fence, choose vinyl mesh, since wind passes through its open holes. On a garage door, use solid vinyl. Hang with zip ties or bungee cords through the grommets, pulled snug.

Questions about welcome home banners

Can we use a phone photo, or does it need to be a studio shot?

A phone photo works. Upload a JPG, PNG or WEBP file where the face is easy to see, then drag the photo and use the zoom until the face sits where you want it. Check the box that says you took the photo or may print it. For a studio portrait, get the photographer's print release first.

Is there a welcome home banner without a photo?

Yes. The site has a Welcome Banners page with text-only designs for families who want words and no photo. This page covers the photo version, which comes in wide sizes from 4 by 2 ft to 8 by 4 ft, in solid vinyl or mesh.

What does a welcome home banner cost, and how fast does it ship?

Wide sizes start at $31.95 for 4 by 2 ft and reach $126.95 for 8 by 4 ft, with the same sizes in mesh. Shipping is $9.99, and orders of $99 or more ship free. Orders ship in 1 to 2 business days. Ordering five copies of one banner saves 10%, and ten copies save 15%.

Can we send our own notes about the wording?

Yes. Design it for me costs $35 more: send the photo and your notes, and a mockup comes back by email within 1 business day. Two rounds of changes are included, and you approve the mockup before anything is printed. Use the notes to say how the words should read.

Will the photo still look sharp on a banner this big?

A note under the photo shows how sharp it will print at the size you chose, so check it before you order. Larger sizes spread the same pixels over more vinyl, so the note can drop as you go up. The live preview matches the printed banner, so use it to check the framing too.
